Conceptual framework for early childhood education
The developmental interaction approach in early childhood education is based on the theories of montessori maria, Erik Erikson, Jean Piaget and Lev vygotsky. These theories on early childhood education provide relevant foundation for understanding of varied areas of childhood education in their practice.

For instance, Erikson opine that human development is throughout their life span. He further proposed eight physiological stages that human encounter their life, this stages are set by a “crises” that must be resolved before being able to move onto the next stage .

The early childhood is made up of these three stages

1. Infancy: age 0 to 1, in the first year of life, infant depends bon others for food, warmth and affection and therefore must be able to blindly trust the parents/ caregivers for providing those. If their needs are met consistently and responsively by parents and caregivers, infants not only develop a secure attachment with the parents, but will learn to trust their environment in general as well.

2. Toddler: age 1 to 2,children at this stage learn how to talk, walk, use toilet and do things for themselves. Their self-control and self-confidence begin to develop at this stage.

3. Early childhood: 2 to 6,  children at this stage have developed a motor skills and become more engaged in social interaction with people around them. The role of the parents/teacher at the various child development stages in the learning process can enhance by adequate understanding of these theories.

Piget emphasized that early cognitive development involves process based upon development involves process based upon actions and later progresses into changes in mental operations. He further explained he four stages of development which include the sensorimotor ( birth to about age 2).

That child’s learning at this stage is about himself and his environment through motor and reflex actions.

The behavior can be modified using sense such as, a frown a Stern or soothing voice all serve as appropriate techniques.

The pre operational stage begins about the time the child begins the time the child starts to talk, to apply his new knowledge of language, the child begins to talk.
